Im not a rock
I’m Not a Rock
The material is not neutral: it vibrates, resists, speaks. In “I’m not a rock”, ceramics is not merely shaped matter, but a living substance crossed by fire and tension. The crack that breathes on its surface is not a flaw; it is an event: an inner hollow that beats, inviting doubt, possibility, and attentive listening. The piece becomes a mirror of all the fragility that inhabits what appears solid. The gesture of holding it is the realization that the ceramic and the human share the same pulse, the same risk of fracture, the same need for support. The crack that opens on one of its sides is also the silent biography of the piece: a metaphor of the body and the territory, guardian of memory. “I’m not a rock” presents itself as an open essay on form and matter, where fragility becomes an internal architecture and matter, far from remaining silent, asks: What if it also thinks us, embraces us, and reminds us that solidity is only an appearance? In its fragility, the work speaks not only of the body and memory, but also of our inner being. From the material arises a reflection on what we hold and what holds us.
